Surrounded by large Mediterranean gardens the 2 cottages of casa Scirocco have been restored in the typical Eolian style to a very high standard. The large terrace of the very traditional Casa glicine is overgrown with wisteria. Casa limone pleases with a fantastic roof terrace. The gardens contain a variety of typical plants and there are a lot of superb panoramic views. Just the proprietor's cottage is sharing this large property. All the cottages are individual and completely separate from each other. The next road is a very quiet one which ends at the monastery 'Pirrera'. There is a private road to the cottages. Canneto beach and the historic town centre of Lipari are about 2 miles away. Bus transfer 3 times a day. Walking about 30 minutes. Cars, scooters etc. can be rented at Lipari or Canneto, special offers (optional): 'bring and pick up service' as agreed. Guided tours to all the islands by the proprietor (specially trained guide). There are private parking spaces.
Unesco World's Heritage: The 7 Eolian islands (Lipari, Vulcano, Salina, Panarea, Stromboli, Filicudi, Alicudi) meanwhile belonging to the Unesco World's Heritage didn't loose their naturalness. Except the month of August you don't find mass-tourism. Lipari Island has got about 8000 inhabitants and Lipari town is of course always the lively and cultural heart of all the islands.
But there is still the quiet and nearly unsettled Lipari where you can feel united with nature. The hot thermal water and the steaming fumaroles let you know the special ambience.
And so is the casa Scirocco which wants to combine naturalness, comfort and hospitality for its guests. For special experiences we recommend guided walking tours (to all the islands) - also at night. Totani-fishing at night or the different boat-trips.
Ecological / Rural Tourism: The casa Scirocco wants to give the feeling of a soft, natural and rural tourism. The fruits of the organically farmed garden (capers, cucunce - the fruits of the caper's flower - lemons, oranges, apricots, mulberries, olives etc.) can be picked up moderately by the guests as well. If you need special recipes there will be no problem. We have made the experience that our guests feel themselves at home very soon. Casa Glicine and Casa Limone are in the neighbourhood united by the gardens. So it's a perfect situation for the stay of 2 couples or 2 families being friends
